Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Hip-Hop Artist, Producer, and Beat-maker thatdudechandler has had a life-long passion for music. His lyrics are deeply personal, rapping with a stream-of-conscious style of writing. His subject matter includes a wide range of topics, often providing societal critiques and pointed self-analysis over textured, colorful production.

He began discovering his love for rap through middle school rap battles and talent shows, while also creating his own music at home up until high school. Once he began college in 2018, chandler met and worked with like-minded artists and focused his attention on creating music while working through school.

As a product of St. Louis, thatdudechandler’s early musical origins of course were rooted in hometown hero, Nelly, as well as Eminem. Currently, chandler’s style defies geographic constraints, pulling from the gritty, boom-bap of the East Coast, the warm soul of St. Louis and Chicago, the carefree cadences of the west coast, and the boom of the South. Ever a student of hip-hop, chandler strives to diversify these influences into his own sound. Combining these light and dark elements, chandler effortlessly packs clever wordplay into hypnotic flows.

thatdudechandler's latest solo project, Freudian Thoughts Volume 1, was released as 3 separate EPs, named after the three levels of consciousness as theorized by Sigmund Freud: Superego, Id, and Ego. Each EP provides a different sonic landscape and lyrical tone as chandler attempts to identify himself and his struggles, in order to find a balance on the final EP, Ego.
